Says, “Retired NYPD Detective D’Esposito will Fight for Middle-Income families & Safety”

Tax Relief, Broken Economy, Supply Chain Crisis, Soaring Inflation, Energy & Drug Crises and Violent Crime Top D’Esposito’s Priorities

Retired Congressman, author and radio personality Pete King has endorsed Anthony D’Esposito for Congress in the Fourth District.  King, who served almost three decades in the House of Representatives distinguished himself on a variety of issues, including his passionate advocacy for middle-income families on Long Island and across the nation.  The retired Congressman indicated that D’Esposito was his choice for Congress because residents of the Fourth District need an effective leader who will support our police, make communities safer, press for meaningful tax relief and stand up against the extreme socialists who have taken control of the Democrat Party.  King also observed that D’Esposito had the experience and expertise to tackle the issues of a failing economy, skyrocketing inflation and the serious drug and crime crises.

“Anthony D’Esposito is the right person to lead the fight for middle-income families in Washington,” stated retired Congressman Pete King.  “He has the experience and knowledge to take on the issues that are confronting neighbors, such as rising crime and illicit drugs, a failing economy and soaring inflation.  I am proud to endorse Anthony D’Esposito for Congress.”

“I want to thank Congressman Pete King for endorsing me in my campaign for Congress, said D’Esposito.  “He earned the respect of his colleagues in Washington and the trust of neighbors on Long Island.  He distinguished himself for protecting taxpayers, supporting sound and sensible fiscal policies and supporting law enforcement.  I consider Pete King a mentor, and I will do my best to live up to the high standard that he set for excellent public service.”

Anthony D’Esposito is a Town of Hempstead Councilman and a retired NYPD Detective.  He also served as the Fire Chief for the Island Park Fire Department.  As Councilman on the Hempstead Town Board, D’Esposito has provided real tax relief to neighbors, cutting or freezing taxes in each of the last four year’s budgets.  During his tenure with the NYPD, he made almost 700 arrests, many of them associated with dangerous felonies such as

murder, drugs, assault and gang violence.  Finally, Anthony D’Esposito answered the call of duty for residents of the seaside community of Island Park during Hurricane Sandy.  In fact, virtually every house in his hometown was flooded in the superstorm, and Fire Department Chief Anthony D’Esposito led the Department’s storm recovery effort.

“Anthony D’Esposito has proven himself to be a responsive public official, a brave member of the criminal justice community and a selfless hero who worked to help a storm-ravaged community in the wake of Hurricane Sandy,” said King.  “I don’t think that anyone in the race for the Fourth Congressional District equals his experience, credentials and record.”

One of D’Esposito’s proudest accomplishments has been the establishment of Hempstead Town’s drug awareness and Narcan training program.  Indeed, Anthony D’Esposito has distributed over 10,000 doses of the opioid overdose reversal drug.  The education and training program has been heralded for its lifesaving potential.  D’Esposito said that the idea for the program was an outgrowth of his experience with the NYPD, fighting the war on drugs, as well as a response to the gangs that are peddling death in communities across Long Island and throughout the country.

D’Esposito said that his priorities in Washington include providing tax relief, tackling runaway inflation, supporting economic growth, standing with law enforcement, addressing energy security and winning the war on drugs.  The Councilman also said that he would stand up to the lackluster leadership of President Biden, and he said that he would be a voice of reason in response to the extreme agenda of AOC and the Squad.

“Neighbors need a ‘voice of reason’ in Washington,” said D’Esposito.  “I will stand up against the Squad, their socialist agenda, calls to defund the police and their economic priorities, which will destroy our nation.  I am a retired NYPD detective who knows the concerns and struggles that middle-income families confront on a daily basis.”

“I want to thank Congressman King for his endorsement in my race for Congress,” concluded D’Esposito.  “I am eager to take his counsel as I work to make our communities safer while protecting taxpayers.  I know that we can fix the broken economy, reverse ‘criminal friendly’ laws, win the war on drugs and implement real tax relief.”
