ANTHONY D’ESPOSITO ANNOUNCES LAW ENFORCEMENT GROUP ENDORSEMENTS ALONGSIDE AREA PBA MEMBERS; CALLS OUT GILLEN FOR PROMOTING PRO-CRIMINAL POLICIES

The Town of Hempstead Councilman, candidate for Congress, and retired NYPD Detective proudly accepted the support of fellow law enforcement professionals.

MINEOLA, N.Y. – Standing alongside a throng of area law enforcement professionals outside Nassau County PBA Headquarters in Mineola, Hempstead Town Councilman and candidate for Congress, Anthony D’Esposito, proudly accepted the endorsements of all major local PBA organizations operating within and around New York’s 4th Congressional District.

“I spent many incredible years serving the people of New York as an NYPD Detective, and I am beyond honored to have received the endorsements of my brothers and sisters in law enforcement,” proclaimed D’Esposito.  “This overwhelming support for my campaign by those who safeguard our streets is an amazing honor, and I pledge to continue my collaborative working relationship with my first responder colleagues upon entering Congress.”

Citing D’Esposito’s pro-police, tough-on-crime criminal justice agenda, as well as his fervent pledge to both fully fund and properly equip police officers across the community, the members of several PBA organizations resoundingly endorsed D’Esposito’s bid to represent New York’s 4th Congressional District.  The list of PBA endorsements D’Esposito has received thus far include:

  • New York City Police Benevolent Association
  • Nassau County Police Benevolent Association
  • Nassau County Superior Officers’ Association
  • Nassau County Police Detectives’ Association
  • Nassau County Corrections’ Officers Benevolent Association
  • Suffolk County Police PBA
  • Hempstead Police PBA
  • City of Long Beach Police PBA
  • Lynbrook Police PBA
  • Rockville Centre Police PBA
  • Freeport Police PBA
  • Floral Park Police PBA
  • Suffolk County Correction Officers Association
  • Suffolk County Deputy Sheriff’s PBA
  • Suffolk County Detective Investigators
  • Suffolk County Detectives Association
  • Suffolk County Police Conference
  • Suffolk County Probation Officers Association
  • Suffolk County SOA
  • NYC Detectives’ Endowment Association
  • Police Conference of New York

While discussing his lengthy record of public service, Anthony D’Esposito touted his storied career as a member of “New York’s Finest” and pledged to be a reliable partner for law enforcement in Congress. Indeed, D’Esposito’s career in law enforcement saw scores of criminals thrown in cuffs, with Anthony making over 600 arrests during his tenure as an NYPD Detective.  This successful period of policing in D’Esposito’s career as well as his accrued law enforcement endorsements, stand in stark contrast to his opponent, Laura Gillen, who has proudly staked her claim as a proponent of New York Democrats’ failed “cashless bail” law that allows criminals to roam free from jail without paying bail, even after committing a violent crime.  What’s more, while Anthony D’Esposito worked proactively to fight the local opioid epidemic by instituting Narcan training courses in conjunction with area law enforcement, Laura Gillen has remained silent on the root cause of the epidemic – President Joe Biden’s failed border security policies that allow for opioids like fentanyl to flood Long Island communities.

“Between supporting the ‘author’ of New York’s cashless bail law, refusing to condemn the reckless, anti-police agenda being implemented by the far-left progressives in Washington D.C, and remaining silent on important border security issues, Laura Gillen has effectively promised she would serve as a quiet ‘rubber stamp’ for Biden’s radical agenda,” said D’Esposito.  “In Congress, I will be an independent voice that will fight tooth and nail to provide the funding and overall support our communities’ diligent law enforcement professionals need, so they can keep working hard to protect our hometown.”
