House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (NY-21) today endorsed Hempstead Town Councilman Anthony D’Esposito in his campaign for New York’s 4th Congressional District.  D’Esposito was first elected to the Hempstead Town Council, which is America’s largest township, in 2016 and he was reelected in 2021with with nearly 70% of the vote.  D’Esposito is a retired Detective in the New York Police Department and former Chief of the Island Park Fire Department.  New York’s 4th Congressional District is entirely located in Nassau County.

Congresswoman Stefanik said, “I am proud to endorse Anthony D’Esposito in his campaign for New York’s 4th Congressional District.  As a retired NYPD Detective with more than 600 arrests, Anthony has the real-world experience to become an important voice in Congress on public safety issues and, with his record of cutting taxes on the Hempstead Town Council, a champion for New York property taxpayers. I look forward to working with Anthony to flip this battleground seat in the fight to save New York and save America!”

Councilman Anthony D’Esposito said, “I deeply appreciate Congresswoman Stefanik’s support and the leadership she is providing our state and our country.  She is a strong, principled conservative who is leading the fight to stop the failed Biden agenda and get America moving in the right direction again.  I look forward to partnering with her as a member of Congress to end the inflation crisis, restore law and order to our streets and ensure everyone has the opportunity to succeed.”

D’Esposito was named “On the Radar” by the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Young Guns program and Real Clear Politics recently changed the status of the race from Leans Democrat to Toss Up.
